From curiosity to conversation
Turkish for ages 10–11
Explaining how something works or giving a reason for a choice can open new uses for Turkish. Your child’s interests and current language use help guide the activities.
Follow an idea
A sport, book or everyday problem that interests your child can become a lesson topic. A sample task might ask for a choice and an explanation, giving the language a purpose beyond repeating information.
- Choose three stops for a trip and explain why
- Find similarities and differences in two pictures
- Write short instructions for an activity
Age-appropriate content and useful support
A ten-year-old who is new to Turkish still brings their own interests to the lesson. The language can be simple while the topic and pictures remain appropriate for their age.
Small connections beyond the lesson
You might invite your child to describe one event from the day or suggest a family activity. A parent needs to be reachable during lessons and remains responsible for the technical setup.
What families wonder at this age
Can my child start with very little Turkish?
You can share their experience before the intro lesson. The teacher considers age and current Turkish use separately when exploring a starting point.
Can we focus on conversation?
Share your conversation goal with the teacher. Listening, reading or brief notes may also be used to support the topic being discussed.
What can we discuss when looking at progress?
You can discuss concrete examples, such as understanding a question, continuing an explanation or adding a reason. Children are not promised the same pace or outcome.
