Say it, read it, tell it

Turkish for ages 8–9

An event at school, a favorite game or a family routine can start a conversation. The aim is to give your child a reason to use the Turkish they already know.

Explore one topic in several ways

A topic can return in conversation, an illustrated text and a short writing task. An activity can invite your child to do more than recognize a word: it gives them something to communicate.

  • Explain two rules of a favorite game
  • Discuss a choice in a short story
  • Write a short invitation to a friend

Understanding and expressing

Your child may understand a question in Turkish but prefer answering in another language. Sharing this helps you and the teacher consider useful prompts and the support needed for participation.

A small contribution from home

A brief picture conversation or a book chosen together can make room for Turkish outside lessons. Ask for your child’s ideas without turning it into a test; during lessons, a parent stays nearby and within reach.

What families wonder at this age

What if reading is less familiar than speaking?

We can discuss that as a separate need. Speaking and age alone do not determine the starting point; tell the teacher about your child’s reading experience too.

Who takes part in a group lesson?

Group lessons bring 2 siblings together; children from the same family learn in the same lesson. Our education team can help you check suitability.

How long are the lessons?

One-to-one and group lessons last 25 minutes. The gift intro lesson also lasts 25 minutes.
