A quick check before the lesson

Prepare for an online lesson

Preparing the technology beforehand lets you give more attention to your child when the lesson begins. Start by checking the picture, sound and connection on the device you plan to use.

Try the device before the lesson

Make sure the camera can show your child comfortably and the sound can be heard. An adult should review any microphone or camera permission prompt; share device questions before getting started.

  • Check power on the device you will use
  • Check that sound can be heard and transmitted
  • Review the lesson time and selected time zone

A simple learning space

Choose a comfortable space where your child can sit and, when appropriate, move. Keep paper and pencils nearby, close distracting content and prepare what they are likely to need.

How close should an adult be?

For ages 4–6, a parent stays in the same room; for ages 7–9, nearby and within reach. For ages 10–17, being reachable is enough. An adult remains responsible for camera, sound and connection setup.

Questions on your mind

What if we have a connection question?

Tell our education team which device you plan to use and what is happening. Clarify technical suitability before the lesson time when possible.

Do we need to buy materials beforehand?

Check the teacher’s guidance first. Simple items such as paper and pencils can be kept nearby; there is no need to assume special supplies are required.

How do we check the correct lesson time?

Review the selected time zone together with the displayed lesson time in the booking flow. Include the time zone when sharing the appointment with someone in another country.
