Time to explore together

Preschool Turkish

For a preschooler, communication may begin by showing a toy or joining a story through movement. Turkish activities can make room for these different ways of taking part.

Prepare a simple learning space

Position the camera so your child can be seen comfortably, and check sound and connection beforehand. Paper, a few pencils or a favorite object can be a simple starting point without a large collection of supplies.

Communication through play

Choosing, finding, requesting and taking turns are small communication purposes within play. Sample activities can help the teacher observe your child’s interests and familiarity with Turkish.

  • Find two objects of the same color
  • Act out a greeting with a toy
  • Add a movement to a picture story

A parent during the lesson

For ages 4–6, a parent stays in the same room. Leave time for your child to look, choose and respond, and follow the teacher’s guidance rather than rushing to answer on their behalf.

Questions on your mind

What is the minimum age?

The overall Roots & Talks age range is 4–17. A preschool starting point considers participation and language experience alongside age.

How long is a lesson?

Live lessons last 25 minutes. The first intro lesson, our gift, also lasts 25 minutes, with a parent in the same room for younger children.

Should we practice letters before starting?

Letter practice is not a prerequisite. Sharing what your child enjoys and how they encounter Turkish provides useful information for the starting point.
