First discoveries

Turkish for ages 4–5

At this age, Turkish can begin with a picture you explore together, a favorite toy or a short story. Your child’s experience with the language helps shape the starting point.

Start with something familiar

Your child may hear Turkish at home or be meeting it for the first time. Familiar objects and short instructions help the teacher see how they participate; children of the same age can start in different places.

  • Show a toy and communicate a choice
  • Find people or objects in a picture
  • Join a short story with a sound or movement

Give words a purpose

An activity might have a simple purpose: asking for something, making a choice or greeting someone. The same words can reappear across different pictures and games; extended writing is not a condition for starting.

Where does a parent fit?

A parent stays in the same room and prepares the camera, sound and connection. Giving your child time to respond leaves room for their own participation, even when the answer begins with a gesture.

What families wonder at this age

Does my child need to read?

No. The starting point can center on pictures, listening, speaking and movement. The teacher observes how your child participates during the intro lesson.

What if my child does not answer in Turkish?

You can tell us beforehand. Pointing to a picture or choosing between two options can also help the teacher understand where to begin.

How long is the first lesson?

The gift intro lesson lasts 25 minutes. A parent consultation is optional, and you can speak with our education team beforehand if you have questions.
