From familiar words to your own stories

Online Turkish lessons in Germany

Hearing Turkish in the family and using it to tell your own story can feel different. Roots & Talks gives children a place to explore that next step through conversation, pictures and interests they bring to the lesson.

Tell us how Turkish appears at home

Your child might understand relatives, use short phrases or prefer answering in German. These details are more useful than a single label such as beginner when discussing where to start.

Notice reading as its own skill

Being comfortable speaking does not automatically mean being comfortable reading Turkish. A teacher can explore a child’s familiarity with written words through short, suitable examples without turning the lesson into a spelling test.

Give conversation somewhere to go

A family recipe, a memory from a visit or a favorite animal can become a shared topic. Let your child choose something they actually want to explain and build the conversation from there.

Questions from families abroad

Can my child join if they answer in German?

Yes. Share that pattern beforehand; the teacher can observe understanding and offer manageable ways to participate in Turkish.

Are these lessons tied to a school grade?

Age helps us choose suitable activities, while language experience helps shape the starting point. Children in the same school year can need different support.

How do we choose a teacher?

Read the public profiles and compare available times with your family’s week. You can ask the education coordinator for help if you wish.
