One-to-One or Sibling Turkish Lessons: Which Format Fits?

One-to-One or Sibling Turkish Lessons: Which Format Fits?

The cheaper or more social option is not automatically the better one. One-to-one and sibling group lessons solve different needs. Start by looking at how each child participates, not only at the timetable.

When can one-to-one fit?

Individual lessons allow the teacher to adjust pace, topic and language load around one child. They may suit a child who needs more wait time, has a very specific goal or feels overshadowed when a sibling answers first.

When can a sibling group fit?

A sibling group can provide a familiar conversation partner and shared games. At Roots & Talks, the group format is for two siblings from the same family. It works best when both children can receive meaningful turns rather than one becoming the permanent helper.

Four things to compare

  • Age and level: Can one activity stretch both children without losing either?
  • Turn-taking: Can they wait, listen and let each other answer?
  • Relationship: Does learning together feel safe or competitive?
  • Goal: Do they need shared family language or separate support?

Observe before you decide

Tell the teacher honestly how the siblings interact. If the first format does not work, changing the arrangement is not failure; it is useful information. Read the lesson formats and plans before booking.

Your next step

If you are still unsure, ask the education coordinator which observations would help the decision. You can also choose a teacher and use the gift intro lesson to see how the proposed format feels in practice.
